Travel Health

How healthy you stay on your trip has a lot to do with how much you will enjoy it.  The risks to your health from traveling have a lot to do with where you are going, what kind of activities you will be doing, and your medical history.

Although about 70% of all travelers report some kind of illness at some point in their trip, less than 1% of the people require hospitalization.  If you plan to visit "developing countries" your odds of contracting an infectious disease are higher.  However, this shouldn’t deter you from going anywhere you want to go.

Centers For Disease Control & Prevention (CDC)

When evaluating your health needs, your first step should be to consult the Centers For Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) website and look at their comprehensive destinations guide.  On the website you will be able to check out the potential risks for travelers to the country or countries you plan on visiting and the necessary inoculations you will need to get.

The CDC website also has numerous travel tips for staying healthy and the most comprehensive information on infectious diseases in the world.
